Part C Systems and Home Visiting 2016 Improving Data, Improving Outcomes Conference New Orleans, LA August 2016

2 Initiative Goals: Key federal agencies will provide leadership to advance policy changes which supports an effective early childhood delivery system that integrates Part C/EI and Home Visiting services Build state capacity to develop and implement effective strategies to promote the integration of Part C EI and HV programs into the Early Childhood System Work in partnership with Part C/EI, HV national stakeholders, TA providers and advisory council leads in support of an effective early childhood delivery system.

3 Objectives/Activities
Identify and develop resources to support Part C/home visiting state collaboration Identify evidence-based practices, indicators and exemplars of successful HV/Part C collaboration activities. Implement a comprehensive engagement strategy to disseminate information Implement an engagement strategy: Leverage existing resources Use social media and technology to disseminate information Actively engage stakeholders using: Focus groups Listening sessions Product review Conferences

4 Focus Groups Identification of states that reported collaborative activities between the two programs Initial Audiences for Focus Groups: First Steps Coordinators Home Visiting Coordinators Technical Assistance Centers for both Part C and Home Visiting Future – Families who participate in the two programs

5 Questions for Focus Groups
What are the essential components of a high quality local Early Childhood delivery system that integrates Part C and Home Visiting? What are the challenges/barriers to Part C and Home Visiting collaboration at the local and state levels? How might local community programs develop engagement strategies? What are essential resources to support that effort? How would we measure success? What role can the federal agencies have to support this work?

6 Next Steps Complete the focus group activity
Develop draft document for public input Final guidance document released late fall 2016
