1. Effects of 5 yr of GH substitution in 118 GH-deficient adults on serum concentrations of TC, HDL-C, LDL-C and TG as well as on blood glucose, serum insulin and serum HbA1c
Serum LDL-C was excluded in five patients due to serum TG values greater than 4.3 mmol/liter. (In all other analyses, the five patients with serum TG values above 4.3 mmol/liter were included). Blood glucose, serum insulin and serum HbA1c were excluded in one patient because this patient had to receive oral medication with glipizide due to diabetes mellitus after 2.5 yr of GH treatment. All values are shown as the mean (SEM). The statistical analyses are based on one-way ANOVA, followed by Student-Newman-Keuls post hoc test. P values (2-5 yr) are based on the post hoc analyses between the 2 yr and 5 yr values.
