The OPTN website contains 11 white papers developed by the Ethics Committee during the past 22 years. The Committee is reviewing each white paper for accuracy and relevancy.

Workgroup considering ethical implications of imminent death donation
This work is in very preliminary stages
The Ethics Committee is leading a workgroup considering the ethical implication of imminent death donation. The work group includes representatives from the Ethics, Living Donor, Operations and Safety and OPO Committees.

Could lead to the development of a white paper on this topic
Will not result in proposed policy

The Policy Oversight Committee approved this project
The Committee has consulted the Living Donor, Patient Affairs, Operations and Safety, Transplant Coordinators and Transplant Administers Committees to determine the scope of this issue.
