Dunlap church of Christ Questions? Just Let Us Know!

3 Proverbs 31:10-31 “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. (11) The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.”

4 (12) She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life
(12) She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. (13) She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. (14) She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.”

5 (15) She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. (16) She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. (17) She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.”

6 (18) She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. (19) She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. (20) She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.”

7 (21) She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. (22) She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple (23) Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.”

8 (24) She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. (25) Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come (26) She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

9 (27) She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. (28) Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. (29) Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.”

10 (30) Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. (31) Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”

11 Every individual member is essential to the whole.
I Corinthians 12:20 “Now are they many members, yet but one body.” Every individual member is essential to the whole.

14 Bible Authority An attack on any individual category is an attack on the body as a whole!

16 Attacks On Women We are informed that more and more young ladies are frustrated that they are not allowed to preach and teach during the public worship assembly. Such a prohibition against female preachers is a clear case of men hating women, mean and oppressive, and not a matter of Bible authority!

17 Think About This! I Timothy 1:5
“When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.” I Timothy 1:5

18 Debasing, Belittling Attitude
Hopefully it is unintentional. In pushing for women preachers they are actually being demeaning toward these kinds of godly women. Here are three things we need to understand about the biblical role of women in the church.

19 A Broader View Of Christian Service
“It isn’t fair that I can’t use my talents to glorify God.” Why is your view of Christian living and Christian service so narrow that the only way you think you can serve God is during the worship assembly?

20 A Broader View Of Christian Service
A young lady, with a talent for speaking and a passionate love for the Lord, can serve and glorify God in a million ways! 99% of Christian life takes place outside of the worship assembly. Stop focusing all of your attention on the 1%.  Christian living is more than the worship assembly!

21 A Deeper Respect For Meekness & Submission
In our culture, “submission” is a dirty word. Culture says that a doctrine, which teaches people to submit, is oppressive and archaic. If this is true, then we must throw out every bit of Christian doctrine, because submission is what the New Testament is all about.

22 A Deeper Respect For Meekness & Submission
Philippians 2:1-11 John 13 If you can’t accept this teaching, you don’t yet understand Christianity. Men & women both have countless opportunities to practice submission & meekness, but women have a greater opportunity, which means they are due greater honor.

23 A Deeper Respect For Meekness & Submission
Ephesians 5:22-33 1 Peter 3:1-2 1 Peter 3:4 1 Timothy 2:11 1 Corinthians 14:34

24 Meekness Is Not Weakness
“Women are not being mistreated when the Lord asks them to take on this role in the assembly and in their marriages. Like opening her door for her, it is not done to say she is incapable of doing these things; she is honored by allowing someone else to do them.”

25 A Deeper Respect For Wives & Mothers
Our culture says it is demeaning to women to say they should be wives and mothers instead of preachers. When they say this, they are implicitly saying the role of preacher is more important and significant than the role of a wife and mother.

26 A Deeper Respect For Wives & Mothers
With contempt they ask, “So, I can just be a wife and mom?” With all due respect, the word “just” has no place in that sentence. Women do a job men cannot do! I Timothy 2:8-14 “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”

27 (9) In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; (10) But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.”

28 (11) Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection
(11) Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. (12) But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (13) For Adam was first formed, then Eve.”

29 (14) And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (15) Notwith-standing she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.”

30 A Deeper Respect For Wives & Mothers
Not every man will be a preacher and not every woman will be a wife or mother. But that does not change the fact that in order to be qualified to be a mother, you must be a woman. And in order to be qualified to teach in the worship assembly, you must be a man.

31 A Deeper Respect For Wives & Mothers
That is no more demeaning to a woman than it is to a man. It celebrates two of our unique roles within the kingdom of God. God given roles! “Many members, yet one body.”

32 God’s Simple Plan HEAR (Romans 10:17) BELIEVE (John 8:24)
REPENT (Luke 13:3) CONFESS (Rom.10:9-10) BAPTIZED (Gal. 3:27) ADDED TO THE CHURCH (Acts 2:41,47)

33 Are You Wayward? “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.” (Acts 8:22) “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16)
