NS 2.1- Students should be familiar with the rules for multiplying and dividing whole numbers in order to multiply and divide decimals.

7 Adding and Subtracting Decimals
Step 1-- Line up the decimal points Step 2– Add or subtract as you would whole numbers Step 3– Place the decimal point in the same place as in the numbers above it. (stack them up)

8 Multiplying Decimals Multiply decimals like whole numbers.
Count the total numbers of decimals points in the factors. Place that number of decimal places in the product.

9 Dividing Decimals Make the divisor a whole number
Line up the decimals in the quotient and dividend Divide as you would whole numbers
