4 Grids help people locate specific things easier on a map.

6 grid – a pattern of lines that form squares

7 Index – an alphabetical listing of place names on a map and the grid squares in which they are found

8 Physical map – a map that shows natural landforms and waterways on Earth’s surface

9 South Pole – the point on the Earth located at 90°south latitude, where the lines of longitude meet.
