HARTLINE PROTECTIVE ENCLOSURE The Best Protection for Your Telemetry monitor

EKG telemetry provides unparalleled safety for countless critically ill and recovering patients. In our own hospital we have seen the number of beds served by EKG telemetry double every five years. Once found only in the cardiac care unit, EKG telemetry can now be found on pulmonary, renal, medical, and surgical units as well as in cardiac rehabilitation and emergency departments. At present almost one out of every four beds at our hospital is designated for EKG telemetry. C.W. Hendricks MD, FACC

C. Dorn Smith MD, FACC The acquisition and maintenance of EKG telemetry transmitters now represents a necessary major investment for acute care hospitals. In our heart center we became concerned by the frequency with which these expensive transmitters were damaged. Droppage, food and beverage spills, contamination by body fluids, wound drainage and even attempts by patients to bathe or shower kept many units in the repair shop at considerable expense. Of even greater concern was the possibility that a contaminated transmitter might serve as a vehicle for the spread of infection from one patient to another, The cloth and foam pouches currently in use to allow patients to carry the transmitters provide no protection and compound the problem of contamination.

S. Humphrey MD, FACC These concerns led our group to develop the HartLine Protective Enclosure. This shock and water resistant device made of impact absorbing, non-allergenic, bacteriostatic plastic provides complete protection for the telemetry transmitter while at the same time guarding the patient against the risk of cross-contamination from previous users of the transmitter. The HartLine Enclosure is comfortable and even permits the patient to shower while wearing the monitor. EKG telemetry protects thousands of patients every day. Protect your telemetry monitors with the HartLine Protective Enclosure.

As technology expands the new millennium, it continues to demand new and precise technology. HartLine Technology has been developed to meet these new demands and provide exceptional customer service. We have built a solid foundation and are dedicated to providing new technology throughout the world. HartLine Technology will become one of the leading worldwide providers of demand, quality and cost effective technology. We believe that we have the technological, knowledge and projects in place to achieve a long-term objective, which will lead to exceptional customer satisfaction and incremental sales in both the domestic and international market.

A timely product little known to the medical field.

DESCRIPTION A water-resistant, shock –resistant protective enclosure molded from non-allergenic and antibacterial polypropylene (latex free). This lightweight device (100 grams) includes a comfortable waterproof breakaway strap.

PURPOSE To provide a protective enclosure for a Space Lab TM Digital ECG Transmitter (90347) and Multi-parameter Transmitter (90343).

BENEFITS The Hartline Protective Enclosure provides significant improvements over telemetry pouches currently available. Eliminates damage to ECG transmitter, reducing maintenance and repair expenses for hospitals. Protects ECG transmitter from exposure to body fluids or other contaminants, ensuring optimal performance while extending life of transmitter. Allows cardiac patients to shower while being monitored. ( A physicians permission is required)

A much needed product for the reduction of infection control issues for isolation and non- ambulatory patients.

Our Protective Enclosure will prevent this contamination

Protective Enclosure will prevent contamination and save costly repairs

The new way to carry and protect transmitters is Hartline protective enclosures.

Reduces costly repairs for ECG transmitters, thus saving hospitals millions on repairs.

Average Transmitter usage: 200-500 patients per year depending on size of hospital.

Price of transmitter $1200 - $2400, repair cost $200 - $800.

Our Protective Enclosure will prevent breakage/repair costs

Case Study: The Johnson Medical Center in Charleston has installed units for use in their cardiac care facility: On behalf of the 4 BS telemetry unit, I would like to say that the protective enclosures for the telemetry monitors has been a great help to us. It has served us so far on repairs and it keeps the monitors a lot cleaner. We use them mostly on our combative patients and it has certainly kept the monitors from having needless repairs. We also use them in our isolation rooms. They help to keep the monitors from being exposed to bodily fluids and other types of contaminants. Our Bio-med Engineers are also very pleased with the effectiveness of the protective enclosures. With Great Thanks,Department of Veterans Affairs Julia M. FerrellRalph H. Johnson Medical Center Telemetry Nurse Charleston, South Carolina

Endorsement: I recently had the pleasure of viewing the Cardiac Telemetry Protective Enclosure designed by HartLine Technology. I was impressed by their ingenuity and concern for patient comfort. HartLine Technology has responded to a concern of our telemetry patient population and developed quite an innovative device. Telemetry patients have repeatedly voiced concerns about not being able to shower because of the necessity of having their heart rhythm monitored at all times. Not being allowed to shower can serve to increase the stress of their hospital stay. This protective enclosure helps to achieve patient satisfaction in several ways. It will contribute to patient satisfaction, meet the doctor's expectation that this patient's heart rhythm will be constantly observed and it protects the telemetry unit. I look forward to seeing this very innovative device used in our hospital. Thank You,Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital Lenora E. Bell, RN Columbia, South Carolina Director of Nursing - Evenings

Summary: Protective Enclosure for (Space Lab) ECG Transmitter Reduce costly repairs for ECG transmitter Minimize need to clean transmitter Minimize infection control issues Allows patients to shower with permission by physician Purpose: To provide a protective enclosure for a Space Lab Digital ECG Transmitter (90347) and Multi- Parameter Transmitter (90343). Enclosures for Agilent HP Technology systems and GE Marquette Apex Pro Telemetry systems will be available soon.
