Pre-Advanced Placement Advanced Placement Dual Credit Dual Enrollment Allow students the opportunity to earn college credit

3 What is Pre-AP? These courses include activities and strategies designed to engage students in active, high-level learning. Depth of material requires students to read and write extensively in and out of class. Level of rigor is high so students need to be prepared and find a balance between academics and extra-curricular activities. Leads to success in AP and Dual Credit coursework.

English I PreAP Algebra 1 PreAP, Geometry PreAP, Algebra II PreAP Biology PreAP World Geography PreAP Spanish II PreAP , Spanish III PreAp, Spanish IV AP

5 Please consider when choosing advanced courses for next year:
PreAP and AP courses have “open” enrollment, but there are strict policies regarding dropping the course Help your child choose courses wisely with consideration for his or her overall schedule and areas of passion Time management and self-discipline are crucial

Advanced Placement Dual Credit Dual Enrollment Partner College Board Alamo Colleges UT- Austin Enrollment Criteria Open Enrollment Qualifying score on TSI by subject area Grade Levels 11-12 Curriculum College Board approved syllabus Developed by Adjunct Professor Provided by UT Austin Assessment AP Test Final Exam developed by Adjunct Professor GPA Implications Weighted with a 1.25 multiplier Weighted with a 1.2 multiplier College credit is earned by… Scoring a 3 or higher on the AP test Earning a grade of C or better in the course Performance on UT Austin assessments; students choose to transcript or not College credit is accepted… At all Texas public universities (state law) and most private and/or out of state universities At all two-year Texas Public colleges and most four-year universities in or out of state At all Texas public universities and most private and/or out of state universities Teacher Training Participate in an AP Institute every 3 years Hold a Masters degree with at least 18 hours in the content Participate in a two week intensive training at UT Austin
