When a police officer, or any agent of the government, lures a defendant into committing a crime.
Under the law, if the defendant would not have committed the crime, except for the government’s enticement, then the defendant is not guilty.
If the defendant already had the idea of the crime in mind and an officer only made it possible to commit the crime.
