2 Fig 1 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) flow diagram of information through the phases of the systematic review of patients with isolated calf vein deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Articles excluded in full text based on failure to fulfill the inclusion criteria: (1) patients >17 years of age with venographic or duplex ultrasound-proven peroneal or tibial DVT; (2) comparative study of anticoagulation treatment vs no anticoagulation treatment for isolated calf DVT; (3) intervention group received therapeutically dosed heparin, warfarin, low-molecular-weight heparin, or fondaparinux for at least 30 days; (4) control group did not receive any therapeutic anticoagulation; (5) minimum follow-up was 30 days; and (6) article contained duplicate data as another series already included.
