Small multinational teams of students, working on real-life problems. Instructors, experienced in the field of Industrial Mathematics ECMI has been running annual MWs since 1988

4 Why to Organize a Modelling Week?
Not all students could attend the ECMI Modelling Week Spread the reach of industrial mathematics among students Increase awareness for the applications of mathematics to Industry Increase contacts between academia and industry

5 Modelling Weeks inside the MI-NET framework
MI-NET could support the organization of a MW with up to EUR Focus should be on PhD students, due to the COST regulations 4 calls per year Next call: August 26, 2016 Applications are allowed for events to be held after May 1, 2017

6 Application Procedure
Fill-in the application form Budget Industrial problems and instructors Participants Work plan Programme

7 Budget Provide a clear and detailed budget
Take into account what could be funded according to the COST rules

8 Industrial Problems and Instructors
Provide as detailed description as possible for the problems to be solved during the workshop Problems that could be approached by students in one week Problems having direct industrial relevance Ideally, involve industrial partners

9 Participants Describe what is the target group of the MW
The focus must be on PhD students How many students are expected? How many local students are expected and how many students from abroad? How will you advertise the MW?

10 Example Schedule Sunday: Arrival day; Opening and presentations of the projects Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 9:00-10:30 Group work Final presentations 10:30-11:00 Coffee break 11:00-13:00 13:00-14:00 Lunch 14:00-16:00 Social program  (until Midnight) 16:00-16:30 16:30-18:00
