Getting a Job Bruin Style: The Interview

2 Before the interview Research the organization or specific company you are seeking to work for. Knowing what the company or organization stands for will help you align your answers to their beliefs. Understand their values and expectations Most organizations have specific values and expectations. For example, Branham believes all student can achieve success. Look at their website. Reviewing an organization's website will allow you to identify who people are in the company as well as how they portray themselves.

3 On the day of the interview
Arrive early 15 minutes Wear professional attire. Always better to be overdressed than underdressed Smile Show enthusiasm.

4 The interview questions
Get into groups and ask the following questions to each other. These questions will appear in some way or another in your interview. The person who is not talking should have a time the person. Each questions should be answered in no less than one minute and no more than 3 minutes. After each questions, provide feedback and then switch so the other person can answer.

6 How would your coworkers describe you?

7 Describe a challenge you have faced and how you have resolved it.
Question 3 Describe a challenge you have faced and how you have resolved it.

8 Question 4 Describe a time when you had to work with a difficult individual. What was the situation and how did you handle it?

9 Where do you see yourself in the organization in five years?
Question 5 Where do you see yourself in the organization in five years?

10 After the interview Shake hands with all of the interview panel.
Write a thank you note thanking the organization for taking their time to interview you. Remember, every interview you get is practice. The more you interview, the better you will become at it.
