2 Figure 1 Surgery for acute type A aortic dissection. Femoral artery perfusion reverses the flow in the false lumen, and aortic clamping should be avoided to reduce the risk of malperfusion. The distal anastomosis should be performed under circulatory arrest. The femoral cannula should be removed and inserted into the Dacron polyester fabric graft for antegrade perfusion after completion of the distal anastomosis.
