1 Humor & Exaggeration Poem Interpretation
After reading the story entitled “The Fun They Had,” you will create a comic strip of your interpretation of the humor found in learn compared to the past and future. Follow the directions below to complete the activity. This task uses: Make Beliefs Comix App Re-read the story entitled “The Fun They Had” on pages 581 – 582 in your Holt literature book. Focus on the humorous details the author uses to convey the tone and mood of the story. Go to Give your commix a name and put your name for the Author. Create a text-dependent comic strip of your interpretation of the story including three examples of details from the story. Follow the directions given on the website to customize your characters, setting, etc. Make sure to convey the main idea of the story in your interpretative comic strip. Refer to your Comic Strip Rubric. When you are finished with your commix, use the Snipping Tool to “snip” your commix strip Make sure you include the title and author boxes at the top of the commix. Click the picture of the save disk in the Snipping Tool box, Rename the file with your first initial and your last name (Example:mwoods), now click save. Log into Black board open your commix assignment. Clock on Browse My Computer, find your commix in Pictures Library, click on your commix, and then click open. Now click Submit. Common Core/NG Standard(s): 6 RL.1 Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. 6.W.6 Use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing and link to and cite sources as well as to interact and collaborate with others, including linking to and citing sources.
