2 Activity 28 Cutting Canyons and Building Deltas
Vocabulary: Erosion: The movement of sediment by wind or water. Deposition: Process where sediments are added to an area or landform usually by wind or water. Delta – formed when fast flowing water such as a river reaches slower water and deposits the sediments it has been carrying, forming a fan shape. (Ex. Where a river meets the ocean). River channel – the riverbed that is carved into the land. Procedure: Follow the procedure outlined in the text ( Act 28 pg. C-19) AQ 1-5 Draw your prediction & write a hypothesis in step 2 and your observations in step 9 on the sheet provided. Analysis Questions: 1-5
