Classroom Rules: Be on time, on task & prepared to learn everyday! Keep all personal electronics put away. Be responsible for your own learning. Trash goes in the trashcan! #NOTYOURMAID Grading Percentages Google Classroom Tests/Projects: % Quizzes: % Daily: % Google Classroom will be your go-to spot for homework, important announcements, extra help resources, printable papers, and much more. Interactive Student Notebook (ISN) This year we will be using an Interactive Student Notebook (ISN). The ISN is more than a notebook in which to take notes. It is an organized and creative way to collect and process the information we learn in class. You must have your ISN with you every day. Keep up with all assignments and notes. We will have occasional notebook checks that will affect your grade. It is YOUR responsibility to get the notes and work you missed while absent. Supply List 1 Composition Notebook Blue or black pen & pencil Colored pencils Glue stick &/or tape Barbers Hill High School U.S. History Mrs. Phillips Homework will be assigned during class and posted to google classroom. Homework can and will cause you to fail if it is not completed. Late assignments will be graded as follows: 1 day late – 30 point deduction 2 days late – 50 point deduction 3+ days late – you will receive a zero for the assignment. Homework Policy Extra Help If a student is having trouble they should attend tutorials. Tutorials are every Tuesday and Thursday after school. Parents are responsible for arranging for transportation should a student attend tutorials. If a student cannot make the scheduled tutorials, contact the teacher to arrange for a different time.

2 U.S. History Course Guide 2015 - 2016 Missing/Late Work:
If you choose not to turn in an assignment you must fill out a “Yellow Sheet”. You will fill out the top portion of the sheet and place it in the tray in place of your assignment. Once you have turned in the assignment I will fill out the lower portion and attach it to your late assignment. If you do not complete a “Yellow Sheet” I will not grade the assignment. Exams: Make-Ups & Re-Takes Make-Ups All missed assessments must be completed within ONE WEEK of the date of the exam. If you didn’t achieve the grade you hope to, come to tutorials and then ask to re-take the assessment to show your learning. Re-Takes Re-takes must be completed within ONE WEEK from the date the assessment is returned to you. In order to be able to re-take an exam you must show proof of learning by coming to tutorials prior to the re-take. If these deadlines are not met, the grade will remain as is or “Missing.” My #1 Piece of Advice for Success in U.S. History: KEEP ORGANIZED AND ON TOP OF THINGS!! All classwork, homework, and quizzes are done in order to practice what is needed for the upcoming assessments. Don’t let yourself fall behind!! I have read and understand the course guide. _________________________________ Student Name Student Signature _____________ Date _________________________________ Parent/Guardian Name Parent/Guardian Signature _____________ Date
