3. INTRODUCTION Why SLDOs? A link between HESLB & HLIs
What is the Objective of this Working Session? Among others:
To remind each other on the key roles and functions ( terms of References)
Capacity building
Imparting knowledge to new SLDOs

4. EXPECTATION FROM SLDOs
Maintenance of correct students’ database/information (Allocated & Disbursed loans)
Facilitate timely students’ payments (timely signing)
Ensure timely allocation and Disbursement of loans (Exams results & invoices)
Enhance/maintain communication with the Board to reduce students’ Queries (Students’ Complains Referral Form)

5. MONITORING OF THE LOANS ALLOCATED AND DISBURSED - LESSONS
Deduction of bank charges before transfer of fund to students accounts.
Deduction made by HESLB from tuition fees (HLIs) without prior notes.
Miscommunication between HESLB and HLIs
Lack of allocation due to mismatch of index number used to apply loan and that of admission.
Some few orphan students did not secure loan for academic year 2017/18 (absence of evidence)

Timeline:
May 10, 2018: Open Loan Applications’ Window (OLAMS)
May August, 2018: Receive Loan Applications
Aug 20 – Sept 30, 2018: Verification and Analysis
Oct 10, 2018: Receive (validated) admissions’ list(s) from TCU;
Oct 15, 2018: Announcement of Successful Loan beneficiaries

Oct 25, Loans Disbursement to HLIs & Students – Quarter 1
Nov 1, Open loan application window for appellants
Nov 20, Loan Disbursement to HLIs & students qtr 2
Jan 20, Loans Disbursement to HLIs & Students – Quarter 3
April 20, Loan Disbursement to HLIs & students qtr 4
