6 6th Grade Reading Schedule
7:35-9:02 Specials and Computer Lab 9:05-10: First Block pds 3 & 4 10:35-11: Second Block pds 5 & 6 11:47-12: *Lunch 12:20-1: Third Block pds 7 & 8 1:35-2:48 Fourth Block pds 9 & 10

7 Pre-AP - Pre AP -Academically advanced curriculum which is built on the core curriculum -Incorporates reading and writing encouraging rigor and higher level thinking skills -Developed to prepare students for AP coursework and PSAT and SAT testing -Pre AP students are self motivated learners! ---My students are expected to read minutes each night Monday to Friday, and respond with their journals!

8 Reading Workshop Schedule
Reading Workshop- 70 minutes each day 5-10 minute warm up- critical thinking question 10-15 minute mini-lesson 25 independent reading (small groups, conferencing) 15 minute read aloud with accountable talk 5 minute close/share **Library every Wednesday! Students are expected to read and take AR tests. It should not take longer than 2 weeks to finish a book. Rewards are given each 9 weeks for AR reading.

Late Work Policy: Test Make Ups: 1 day: ~ Corrections up to a 70 2 days: ~Morning Tutorials from 7-7:30 3 days: Zero

11 Our TIS Expectations Keep TIS safe and clean.
Show respect in your words and actions. Keep hands, feet, objects and inappropriate comments to yourself. Allow teaching and learning to take place at all times. 5. Follow PAWS procedures and expectations. *Cougar Paws *Conduct Tally System- Extra Recess

12 Homework Read 30 minutes a night and complete journal entries- all journals are combined together for a major grade! Wednesday folders- please return empty on Thursday! Students are expected to record “We Will” statements and HW in planners
