1 Autopsy of the Roman Empire
Why did it “die”? It’s up to you to find out!

2 Fall of Rome Autopsy Due at the end of class on Wednesday, 10/5
You are going to perform an “autopsy” on the Roman Empire to determine its “cause of death” aka its fall from power. This will be an assessment grade. You must include 5 causes of death that relate to Rome’s downfall. Each cause of death must have a related picture drawn and a brief explanation (2-3 sentences) of why this was a “cause of death” aka reason for fall. Let’s look at an example!

3 Cause of Death for Julius Caesar
Swollen brain Caesar refused to step down from power. Basically, he was arrogant and got a big head, so he must have had a swollen brain. Cause of Death 2: Stabbed in the back Julius Caesar refused to step down from his position of dictator for life, so his best friend Brutus organized a plot to have him assassinated. He was literally stabbed to death, but he was also stabbed in the back by his friends.
