1 Convex Mirrors

2 Convex mirror Mirror appears to be bulging out. Also referred to as Diverging

3 Diverging rays are moving away
Sometimes called a diverging mirror because the incident light originated from the same point and will reflect off the mirror surface and diverge.

4 For example 4 rays will reflect according to the law of reflection.
After reflection the light rays diverge Because of this they will never intersect on the object side of the mirror. Convex mirrors produce virtual images that are located behind the mirror.

5 How to draw the ray diagram for convex mirrors
From your image draw one ray parallel, and one towards the focal. **Your focal is now on the other side of the mirror in this image

6 Draw the reflection The 2 rules of reflection still apply continue reflected ray.

7 Mark the image created This is the point where the two reflected rays intersect. These rays diverge away but the image is produced on the other side. It is virtual.

8 Complete your image Draw your completed image from the principle axis to where the lines intersect.
