You will be looking through magazines to find pictures using Logos, Pathos, and Ethos. Cut those pictures out and create a collage labeling which propaganda technique each of your examples used. Be sure that you support your reasons with specific details. i.e.: This ad uses ethos because it’s a doctor claiming that Tylenol is a good pain remover. Doctors are experts when it comes to medicines.

How do we read Shakespeare?
Subtext: the thoughts we imagine characters to have as they speak certain lines. Their motivation Their emotions behind the words Subtext tools: Stress: emphasis placed on a word when it is pronounced Inflection: the way the voice goes up or down when a word is pronounced Pause: break in reading for emphasis Non-verbal communication: gestures, posture, the presence or absence of eye contact

Acting Activity You will be working in pairs for this activity. Your job as a pair is to act out a scene using the roles that you have randomly drawn. Make sure that your speaking and acting reflects the assigned scenario. It’s a secret, so make sure that you don’t tell your classmates who you are pretending to be.
