2 Abstract In R3.1.E: The draft specification shall include support for an efficient channelization in China’s (5,725 ~ 5,850 MHz) spectrum. To complement with a 120MHz signal design, the pilot pattern design is proposed in this contribution, including: Number and location of pilot tone Guard tone DC tone Slide 2 Sun Bo, ZTE Corp

3 Background In last Hawaii meeting, following statements were accepted:
In R3.1.E: The draft specification shall include support for an efficient channelization in China’s (5,725 ~ 5,850 MHz) spectrum. A possible 120MHz signal solution in Chinese 5GHz spectrum is as figured below. 5727.5 7.5 5735 40MHz 80MHz 20MHz 5847.5 f MHz 120MHz 5835 12.5 Sun Bo, ZTE Corp

4 Legacy pilot pattern for 20MHz
The pilot pattern for 20MHz in n spec is as below. There are totally 64 subcarriers containing: 4 pilot tones located at {±7, ±21} (6 left+5 right) guard tones 3 DC tones Slide 4 Sun Bo, ZTE Corp

5 Pilot Pattern for a Single 80MHz
Design for 80MHz [2] Repetition of the LSIG pilot pattern across 80MHz Not desirable to change pilot positions between the legacy (11a/n) and VHT parts of the packet. For simple receiver design, better to pick 80MHz pilots among the pilots after repetition Considering the tradeoff between the performance and overhead 8 pilots for 80MHz has been accepted also 16 pilots for 160MHz Slide 5 Sun Bo, ZTE Corp

6 Pilot Pattern for a Single 120MHz
Design for 120MHz using the method of 80MHz Pilot pairs of 20MHz are located at {±7, ±21} Repeating pilot pattern of 20MHz 5 times Totally 384 subcarriers for 120MHz signal. Pilot pairs are located at {±11, ±25, ±39, ±53, ±75, ±89, ±103, ±117 , ±139, ±153, ±167, ±181} . Propose to use 12 polits for 120MHz Pilots location pairs:{±11, ±39, ±75, ±103, ±139, ±167} with maximally separated. (6 left+5 right) guard tones and 3 DC tones. Slide 6 Sun Bo, ZTE Corp
