Presentation on theme: "Structural validation of AFA transmissions (STRUVAL)"— Presentation transcript:

1 Structural validation of AFA transmissions (STRUVAL)
Item 5 Eurostat Task Force on Annual Financial Accounts Frankfurt am Main, 9 March 2017

2 What is STRUVAL? Part of Eurostat's pre-validation service for data transmissions. Checks the compatibility of the SDMX structure of transmission files, ensuring that the files will be successfully loaded into the production system.

3 Eurostat pre-validation service
STRUVAL => CONVAL

4 Benefits of STRUVAL Data provider: directly and immediately informed as to whether a transmission file has structural errors or not. Data provider: information on the structural errors in standardised message format. Data receiver (Eurostat): little or no need to investigate data loading difficulties and communicate the problem to the data provider.

5 Timetable for AFA Early January 2017
opening of STRUVAL test channel for ESA table 6 and 7 transmission files (VNASEC) Mid-March 2017 STRUVAL goes 'live' By end 2017 CONVAL implementation begins Several countries compile each quarter the AFA at the same time as quarterly production. We encourage frequent updates and transmission to Eurostat

6 What should data providers do?
Before t+9 months, send a test transmission of the tables using the dataset naming convention VNASEC_Txxxx_A Thank you CZ, DE, SI, SK, CH, RS for testing For ‘live’ transmissions, expect to receive STRUVAL notifications If you wish to add sender rights or informed rights, please apply via EDAMIS. Follow pre-validation service developments.
