4. Civil Rights Group Project
You will work in groups of 4
Pick an issue of inequality a minority group has faced in the US between today.
You will be given a list to choose from or you may present your own topic to the teacher for approval
Each Group will complete the following:
Script (up to 5 minutes long with speaking parts for all group members)
Visual Presentation Aid (such as PowerPoint, Video, Google Slides or Prezi)
Each group will present to their classmates and US History in a community setting.

5. What must the Script Contain?
1. Introduction/background of the issue
Where/when did it start and how does it affect your group
2. How has this fight for equality changed over time?
How did they fight this issue at first? Who was involved? What hurdles/struggles did they face?
How did the fight change over time? How did the tactics used change over time? Who was fighting for the change?

3. How can we eradicate the issue of inequality in the future?
This question is asking you to evaluate the situation today AND to make recommendations on how to improve the situation.
How is this group facing the situation today?
What tactics would make the most sense today?
Who should be involved?

7. Script Requirements
Tasks are to be DIVIDED among the Group Members EQUALLY.
Scripts are DUE Friday March 9th on Turnitin.com
NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED
The script is an expansion of what is on the PowerPoint and is a written version of what each person will say during the presentation. Each person’s section must be labeled with their name.
Must answer Questions 1-3.
Double spaced, typed, MLA formatting.
No longer than 5 minutes.

8. Presentation Aid Requirements
This is what you will present visually to the community. Your script is based on the Visual Presentation.
Introduction
Brief Background of the issue and how it affects the minority group
Who was fighting? Where did the movement start? What tactics did they use?
Changes over time
How did the focus of the movement change overtime. Who is involved now vs. before. How did their tactics change over time?
What are the issues today?
How can we eradicate this issue in the future?
Visual aid should be engaging and interesting to those in the audience!
