2 Going On and OFF Claim with our Chronic Illness Rider – Accelerated Access Solution®
“Chronic” conditions no longer need to be considered “life-long” in order to be eligible. Now it is even easier for clients to access the money they need when they are suffering from a chronic condition whether it is permanent or non-permanent. This sales concept helps to outline the benefits of Secure Lifetime GUL 3 and the available chronic illness rider, Accelerated Access Solution®. First and foremost I want to be clear that: “Chronic” conditions no longer need to be considered “life-long” in order to be eligible. Now it is even easier for clients to access the money they need when they are suffering from a chronic condition whether it is permanent or non-permanent. FOR FINANCIAL PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY. NOT FOR PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION

3 PROBLEM: Filing for non-permanent chronic illness
Luke (Age 55, Preferred Non Tobacco) is a licensed psychologist. He purchased Chronic Illness protection from AIG never imagining that he would suffer from a stroke 5 years later at age 60. His distraught wife, Danielle, has concerns about the well-being of the family. They have a son together that started college last year. She can’t remember if the policy rider would apply to Luke’s condition and contacts their financial planner, Tom. Luke (Age 55, Preferred Non Tobacco) is a licensed psychologist that absorbs the stress of his clients on a daily basis. Worried that his job responsibilities might lead to some form of physical illness, Luke included chronic illness protection on his life insurance policy. He never imagined five years later, at age 60, he would face the reality of a stroke. The stroke takes an emotional toll on the family. His distraught wife, Danielle, has concerns about the well-being of the family. They have a son together that started college last year, so she is motivated to manage family emotions and family finances. Danielle remembers that Luke purchased a Chronic Illness rider on his policy. She just can’t remember if the policy rider would apply to Luke’s condition. Danielle quickly sets up a meeting with their financial planner, Tom. This hypothetical example is for illustrative purposes only. 4 SOLUTION: Secure Lifetime GUL 3 Policy
Tom reminds Danielle that their Secure Lifetime GUL 3 policy along with the elected chronic illness rider called Accelerated Access Solution® does not require a chronic illness to be a life-long condition for eligibility. Many carriers require the condition to be “life long” or permanent. Tom Explains… “Since Luke is unable to perform, without substantial assistance from another person, at least two of the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) he will qualify for the following”: 1) Payment of Accelerated Access Solution benefits, which are designed to be received income-tax-free.1 2) Monthly deductions will be waived for as long as the insured meets the chronic illness requirements. 3) The life insurance benefit will be reduced by each Accelerated Access Solution benefit amount paid to the policy owner. 4) At death, any remaining life insurance benefit will be paid to your policy beneficiary Tom reminds Danielle that they were lucky enough to buy into a Secure Lifetime GUL 3 policy. Furthermore, they elected into a flexible chronic illness rider called Accelerated Access Solution® that does not require a chronic illness to be a life-long condition for eligibility.
