THE GATE TO HEAVEN

Mt 7:13- 14, “Enter through the narrow gate
Mt 7:13- 14, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction,

and many enter through it
and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

1. There are two gates that everyone must choose between that will determine your eternal destination-Heaven or Hell.

The gate to heaven is a narrow one that few will choose to enter.

John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no man comes to the Father but by Me.”

Acts 4:12, “There is no salvation in any other name; for there’s no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.”

1 Timothy 2:5, “There is one God, one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

The Bible tells us that our life on earth is like that vapor that appears for a little time and vanishes away.

So the question that presses in on each of us today is, “Have I entered the gate?”

Moses who said to the people, “See, I have set before you this day life and death, good and evil. Choose life, that you and your seed may live,”

Jeremiah chapter 21, “Unto this people shall you say, ‘Thus says the Lord: Behold, I have set before you the way of life and the way of death.’”

In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus is contrasting two kinds of righteousness: a righteousness that

man can produce and a righteousness
only God can produce.

In Matthew 5:20, Jesus says, “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter the kingdom of Heaven.”

John 3:5-8 “Jesus answered, ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the

Spirit gives birth to spirit
Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot

tell where it comes from or where it is going
tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.’”

“Born of the Spirit”

Our choice today is if we are going to believe Jesus or believe the world.

Do you ever wonder if you are going to Heaven?

The saddest words in the world will be spoken by Jesus one day, “I do not know you.”

Today could be the day that you entered the gate!
