9. Why we work in Mechatronics
Classically, academic education in engineering sciences in Germany is sub-divided into the following subjects
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Computer and Information Sciences
Today, systems are rarely mechanical, electrical or software only, and hence, they require knowledge in integrating all these subjects
Therefore, our philosophy is
Think in systems rather than in insulated components
Be able to work in a interdisciplinary environment
Our concept: Teach Mechatronics and provide the students with the possibility to put their emphasis on specific aspects by choosing an appropriate track in the third semester.
