1 CAP 5100: Project #6 Kinexercise
Problem: Reminder system to exercise for avid computer users. Presented by: Utkarsh Garg, Xiang Hua, Rahul Mehta

2 Existing System (Workrave)

3 Our System (Kinexercise)

4 User study conditions It is a 30 person user study
15 people used Kinexercise and other 15 used Workrave. Feasibility is why we had to keep this system. The duration was over one work week. To see the effects of exercise over a relatively long period. They had to run the system on start-up. To keep an accurate log of # of exercises done (or not done).

5 Results and analysis Primary Hypothesis Our System Existing System
Mean: 72.99 45.46 Standard Deviation: 28.15 27.8 p-value: < t-value +4.66 Secondary Hypothesis Our System Existing System Mean 7.33 4.6 Standard Deviation 1.67 2.1 p-value: t-value: +3.94

6 Conclusion Based on the p-values and t-values obtained, we can safely reject the null hypothesis for both, the primary and secondary hypothesis. This proves that our system makes the users do more exercises compared to the current system. The secondary hypothesis helps prove that, for the current set of users, our system ranked higher in satisfying the users.
