Hello fellow members of Murdoch unit EDN 1113.
My name is Jolene Nottle, and today I will be providing you instructions on how to join and contribute to my Pinterest Board, mothers day long table luncheon.

2. FINDING WWW.PINTREST.COM
If you have not already found Pinterest on your web browser, use my link on my website resources page to take you there.
The home page when you first look at it, should be like below.
To start, you must locate Pinterest on your web browser.
If you are having difficulties, you may use the link provided on my website, mrsnottlesnotes.weebly.com under the resources tab.
When you locate Pinterest, the home page should look like this.

3. CHOOSE HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO SIGN UP AND START AN ACCOUNT
You have 3 options on how to create an account
Now you have 3 options on how to create an account.
1.You may use your social networking account to sign up.
2. You may sign up using your address. I strongly encourage you to sign up this way to avoid privacy and security issues.
OR 3 if you already are an existing member of Pinterest you may use your previous log in details here.

4. EXAMPLE: SIGN UP WITH EMAIL
Please ensure you fill out all required information, as highlighted to the left.
You can have the option to link your Pinterest account with other social networking sites, and then ideas you may like will be suggested for you.
I opted not to create further notifications, for privacy and security reasons, but this is up to you.
I will show you the sign up page using your address.
Ensure you fill out all information requested.
You also have the option to let Pinterest personalise your account based on other sites you use.
I do not recommend this for now.
Then click the sign up tab.

5. CHECK YOUR MAILBOX AND CONFIRM YOUR EMAIL
Next you will receive a in your inbox hopefully, to confirm your .
This will allow you activate your account with Pinterest.
I recommend you follow this first to ensure you are officially signed up.

6. Confirmation complete?
Your Confirmation should take you back to the Pinterest webpage.
If this does not happen, ensure you find
Now you can log in as explained previously, and start your search.
The link on your should take you to your Pinterest account.
If this does not happen, you will need to find Pinterest on your web
browser again.
Now you can start your search.

7. FIRST TIME PINTEREST USERS

For first time users of pinterest, it will take you through a mini tutorial on the basics of this application.
Click though and read the pages and select next to continue.

8. FINDING ME! Now its time to find me.
I am identified as a Pinner on Pinterest.
You can use the find friends tab.
Or the search box and make sure you are searching under pinners.
Type Jolene Nottle in the search area.
As I am identified on Pinterest as a “pinner” you need to locate me. OR
You can do this by typing my name into the SEARCH box.

9. FOLLOW ME Hopefully you have found me by now!
My profile shows my name, and how many followers I have and how many pins I have.
Next:
Click on the FOLLOW tab.
I have highlighted this to show you on the left.
To FOLLOW me, means you will be able to view my Mothers Day Long Table Luncheon and be notified when someone comments, likes, or follows the pins.
Hopefully you have found me by now.
Next click on the follow tab.
This allows me to be notified that you are viewing and contributing to my group board.
You will be able to follow the mothers day long table luncheon board and be notified yourself, when another invited guest contributes also.

10. VIEW MY PROFILE FURTHER To view my Pintrest profile click here.
Now you are following me, view my profile by clicking on my name.

12. This now brings you to my social page, where I have details explaining the board, and then I have hand picked pins that may be recipes ideas for the menu, and table décor inspiration.

13. CHECK OUT THE SUGGESTIONS
Once you have viewed all the suggestions for menu ideas, and table and décor, you can select that you would like to contribute to.
NEXT: Click on the visual photo of that Pin you choose.
Have a look through all my pinned ideas for the event, and then select on to contribute to.
You can do this by clicking on the picture of the one you choose.

14. How would you like to contribute to this social
event?
Now you have to decide how you would like to contribute to this idea.
I suggest you can like the pin, and possibly also pin it to your own profile for future reference.
Then I would like you to comment on the pinned idea.

15. EXAMPLE: LETS ADD A RECIPE COMMENT.
You can comment on any Pin you like.
Type in your suggestion, idea, or question.
Click COMMENT
All invited guests will be able to see this and reply if need be, and take note on the menu plan.
For example I chose to comment on this particular recipe.
Type in your suggestion, idea or questions.
All invited guests will be able to see this and reply to you.
Your contribution will assist me in planning the event.

16. SEND ME A REQUEST TO ADD YOU TO THE GROUP BOARD
NB. As a Group Member, you will be notified when other invited guests make their suggestions about the menu etc.
Next. I would like you to send me a request to add you to the group board.
You can do this by typing in my address under the send tab.
As a group member, you will be notified when other guests have responded to your comment, and be able to contribute further.

17. CHECK YOUR SECURITY SETTINGS
I strongly recommended that once you have finished contributing to my social space – you check your PINTREST settings.
Settings include the following:
Please look at the Notifications tab and ensure you will receive all notifications relating to the group Mothers Day Long Table Luncheon.
Lastly, I would like it if you can check your settings under the tab as shown here.
I strongly encourage you to look at your setting to ensure your privacy is as you wish on this social site, and you can also select to have notifications sent to you when fellow board followers contribute to the mothers day long table luncheon.
