2 Campus Improvement Plans
All plans are based on a Comprehensive Needs Assessment Each campus identified a Problem of Practice / Instructional Focus based on Needs Assessment Campus Plans are aligned to the district goals and objectives Campus Plans are a continual plan for improvement

3 Basic Requirements Each school year the principal of each school campus, with the assistance of the campus-level committee, must develop, review, and revise the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP). The purpose of the CIP is To improve student performance for all students populations, including special education, with respect to the academic excellence indicators and any other appropriate performance measures for special needs populations The CIP must be supportive of the objectives of the district improvement plan

4 Comprehensive Needs Assessment
Each CIP must include: A comprehensive needs assessment addressing district student performance on Academic Excellence indicators, and Other appropriate measures of performance, that are disaggregated by all student groups served by the campus, including categories of: Ethnicity Socioeconomic status Sex Populations served by special programs, including students in special education

5 CIP Requirements The CIP must include: Campus performance objectives
Summative Evaluations Strategies for improvement Staff responsible for ensuring the accomplishing of each strategy Timelines for ongoing monitoring of implementation for each improvement strategy Identify how campus goals will be met for each student and student group. Ethnicity, Socioeconomic status, Sex, and Populations served by special programs, including students in special education Each campus must show how it will meet the District Annual Academic Standards.

10 A Key Idea “The idea behind the Problem of Practice is that everyone involved is working on their practice, everyone is obliged to be knowledgeable about the common task of instructional improvement, and everyone’s practice should be subject to scrutiny, critique, and improvement.”

After an investigation of District data, reflecting on our District practices, and examining our District aspirations, our CIA Focus will be: Problem of Practice: Theories of Action Strategies/Activities Evidence that Demonstrates Success If District leaders design learning opportunities for campus leaders focused primarily on essential elements of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment
