6th Grade Language Arts

2 Tableau = Frozen Scene Your Task: Choose an important scene (event/series of events) from Percy Jackson’s “Road of Trials”. (Chapters 10 – 17) You and your group members should recreate the scene and pose in a frozen position. 1 student = sculptor Other students = characters and/or part of the scene Once in position, the sculptor will tap each student on the shoulder. Each student should say the thoughts/feelings of the character aloud -- keep talking until you are tapped again!

3 Tableau Example Volunteers?
Sculptor: (helps plan scenes; taps students to share thoughts) Grover: [standing in doorway; sounding urgent] I knew I shouldn’t have let Percy out of my sight. This is all my fault! Sally: [standing at door; sounding sad] This day was going to come sooner or later. I just can’t believe it’s happening now… Percy: [lying in bed; shocked] What?! Grover is a goat?! Is this still a dream? Please tell me it is. Wind (no thoughts; actions only)

4 Tableau -- Your Turn! Plan and practice your frozen scene with your group minutes. Be prepared to share out to the class!
