Ecosystem services are the benefits that people obtain from ecosystems. They are the direct and indirect contributions of ecosystems to human well-being. Nature-based solutions will restore, enhance and promote ecosystem services – with simultaneous economic, social and environmental benefits. Ecosystem Services worked well as a concept to mobilise scientists, but often failed in mobilising stakeholders and building positive relationships between humans and the world (as it describes the problem but does not give a solution). NBS could be attractive as it presents the applied way of working with ecosystem services. But there is a lack of mobilisation for some disciplines, e.g. ecology. Real need to work on how to promote inter and trans-disciplinarity (need to think of process on how to call and implement new knowledge generation).
