January 2005 IEEE Publication Status of WG No new publications available from last report. No new publications in the IEEE pipeline at this time. Terry Cole, AMD

4 Term of the 802.11 WG Standards
January 2005 Term of the WG Standards REVCOM approved IEEE standards have a finite term, and status of WG documents is as follows… Status of (reaff. 2003) as amended by a, b, b corr1, d, g, h, i, j Base and a, b, d, g, h, i, j are “safe” at this time good because of the ma revision in progress. Status of F/ (June ) From document: “Publication of this trial-use standard for comment and criticism has been approved by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Trial-use standards are effective for 24 months from the date of publication. Comments for revision will be accepted for 18 months after publication. Suggestions for revision should be directed to the Secretary, IEEE-SA Standards Board, 445 Hoes Lane, P.O. Box 1331, Piscataway, NJ , and should be received no later than 14 January It is expected that following the 24-month period, this trial-use standard, revised as necessary, shall be submitted to the IEEE-SA Standards Board for approval as a full-use standard.” WG Technical Editor will obtain the comments, if any, that were received by IEEE Secretary and plan appropriate action, if any, commending from the March 2005 meeting. If there were no comments, it is expected that F/ shall be submitted to the IEEE-SA Standards for approval as a full-use standard. Terry Cole, AMD

January 2005 “Roll-up” Editions of the WG The 2003 edition of , available for sale from the IEEE Standards web site, includes the following in one document: 802.11 802.11a 802.11b 802.11b corrigendum 1 802.11d Warning: The 2003 edition has not been approved by REVCOM! It contains minor changes throughout the document and may contain errors from combining amendments. The original REVCOM approved standards are definitive. The current ma draft 0.5 contains the following: edition 802.11g 802.11h 802.11i 802.11j Warning: ma an unapproved draft of a proposed IEEE Standard. As such, this document is subject to change. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Because this is an unapproved draft, this document must not be utilized for any conformance/compliance purposes. Permission is hereby granted for IEEE Standards Committee participants to reproduce this document for purposes of IEEE standardization activities only. Prior to submitting this document to another standards development organization for standardization activities, permission must first be obtained from the Manager, Standards Licensing and Contracts, IEEE Standards Activities Department.
