1 1. Write Fact and Fantasy on two separate pieces of card stock
1. Write Fact and Fantasy on two separate pieces of card stock. (See GNC resource pack.) Post the two signs in opposite corners of the room. Start the presentation to play the game. Leave game on the title slide while you explain instructions to children. 2. Divide children into two teams, letting each team choose a team name. Have a volunteer from each team stand in the middle of the room. (Choose a different volunteer from each team for each question.) 3. To read the first statement, simply click with your mouse or the right arrow key on your keyboard to advance to the first statement slide. As soon as the children in the middle think they know if the statement is true or false (“fact” or “fantasy”), they can run to the corresponding corner of the room. They might run to different corners or the same corner. Award 1,000 points to the team of each child who ran to the correct corner. If the statement is false, ask the class how to correct it. Call on the first child who raises his hand; if he is correct, give his team an additional 5,000 points. If he is incorrect, call on a volunteer from the other team. 4. Switch volunteers and continue to the next slide to read the next statement. Team with the most points after all statements are read wins the game!
