2. Making a wet mount slide
Obtain a clean slide and coverslip
Obtain a specimen and place it on the slide
Add a drop of water on top of the specimen
Place the coverslip on top of the slide as shown in the diagram. This will help reduce air bubbles.

5. FIRST
Obtain a microscope and carry it to your lab station using one hand on the arm and one hand on the base.

6. THEN…
Make sure the _______ power objective is the one in position for viewing. That is, it is the one pointing straight down at the stage.

7. Don’t forget the obvious…
Plug the microscope in and turn it on.

8. Begin observing…
Place the slide on the stage. You do NOT need to use the clips.
Observe the slide as needed always using the low power objective first, then medium and high.

9. When you are done observing, make sure that you do the following:
