3 FIGURE 2 Temporal change in CK and troponin (TnT) levels in response to myocyte injury. Time 0 represents onset of symptoms in patients with myocardial infarction. Note that rate of rise of these two markers is similar; however, troponin remains elevated for several days longer than CK. This feature makes troponin a useful tool for diagnosing recent myocardial infarctions.
