A guide for all students

2. Over the next 2 weeks…
Over the next 2 weeks CAVC is being inspected by Estyn [Her Majesty’s Inspectors for Education and Training]
This is to look at the whole College and the experience we offer our students
It is a great chance for us to showcase CAVC and our students at our best

3. What will happen?
Over the 2 weeks 20 inspectors will be at the College
The inspectors will get to know the College by walking around, visiting lessons and speaking to staff and students
You may meet an inspector. They will be wearing ID badges. They may want to ask you a few questions.

4. What will they ask?
About your course – what you are learning about/ do you enjoy it/ how you learn [eg. Lessons/ Moodle/ Work Experience]
About you – what you would like to do after your course

5. What will they ask? Your progress [how well you are doing]
your targets that you set with your tutors
feedback you get from your tutors and other students
your grades
your progress on VITAL

Improving your literacy [writing and reading skills] - for example, how and when your tutors help you do this on your course
Improving your numeracy [maths skills] - for example, how and when your tutors help you do this on your course

If you do not understand the question they ask, don’t worry – it isn’t a test! Just ask the inspector to explain what they mean

11. Some quick reminders Please wear your ID Badge on a lanyard
As always, please make sure you are in class on time
Please make sure you have the correct clothing and equipment for your lessons
Please bring your whole course / module file in to class for the next 2 of weeks
