Pontefract's Roll of Honour We honour those from Pontefract Borough, St Giles and All Saints parishes by showing … some that were killed, their background and age where they lived other matters of interest

Many were from the same family and the same streets. It is not possible to put everyone on the map, because some areas have been demolished and no longer exist. Low numbers in south Pontefract as it was not yet developed.

Approximately half of that generation of young people from Pontefract were lost.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
