What is your responsibility to protect your drains and the sewer system?
Section J of the Town Code states that you may not discharge into the sewer system “waters or wastes containing substances which are not amenable to treatment or reduction by the sewage treatment processes employed.”

In addition to fines and penalties, any person causing a blockage or damage to the Town's sewer system or treatment facilities shall become liable to the Town for any expense, loss or damage occasioned by the Town by reason of such violation.

A special word about “Flushables”
Wipes may be labeled "flushable," but they don't degrade in the system.
Place these items in the
TRASH and NOT the toilet:
Disinfecting wipes
Paper towels
Baby wipes
Towelettes
Mop refills
