9 TRANSLATION HOW TO TRANSLATE=Victorious Vinnie Never Allows Elves.
I Make sure you know all of the vocabulary in the sentence. II. Find the verb (N.B. It is USUALLY the last word in the sentence) . It will end in either –o, -s, -t, -mus, -tis, -nt. III. Find the nominative/subject if the verb is 3rd person singular or plural. Otherwise, the subject is already embedded in the verb! e.g. videoI see; videtisyou all see IV. Find the direct object. If it is singular, it will end in a vowel and then a –m (am, um, um, em, um, em) AND if it is plural it will end in a vowel and them perhaps a –s (as, os, es, us, es). V. Translate everything else! If you have a verb of giving, showing or telling, look for a dative. If you have a linking verb, look for a predicate nominative. Make sure you translate every word! TRANSLATE: 1. Avia filiam amat. 2. Deus (God) filios amat. 3. Pater quinque filias videt.
