2 Bellwork List the key words (as many as you can think of) that would indicate a word problem would be using multiplication. Markus goes to a fabric store to buy material to make t-shirts. He finds a fabric that he wants and goes to the checkout counter. If Markus buys 67 meters of fabric, and each t-shirt takes 4 meters of fabric each. How many t-shirts can he make?

Show how you solved the problem numerically. Write the final answer in a complete sentence. What vocabulary is there that you don’t know, circle it. 4 Problem Number One Steve drove for of the trip, and Trey drove for of the trip. Carrie and Lisa divided the rest of the driving evenly between them. If the entire trip was 192 miles, how many miles did Lisa drive?

5 Problem Number Two William has three cans of used motor oil that all contain gallons. He wants to know how much room will be left if he attempts to pour these into one 5-gallon container. What is his solution?

6 Problem number three Tammy usually uses her muffin recipe to make 12 muffins, but this time she wants to make 24. Her original recipe calls for cups of flour, and she has 1 cup of flour at home. How many more cups does Tammy need?

7 Problem Number four Spot eats of a can of dog food each day and Rover eats of a can of dog food each day. Dog food cost $5.50 for three cans. Note: It is ONLY sold in three can packs. How much does it cost Connie, Spot and Rover’s owner, to buy a 60 day supply of dog food for her two dogs?

8 Problem number five Mike needs a total of 12 feet of rope to complete his science project. The first piece is feet long, the second piece is feet long and the third piece of rope is half the length of the second piece. How much rope does Mike need to complete his science project?

9 Problem number six Leeroy eats of a can of dog food each day and Bellona eats of a can of dog food each day. Dog food costs $5.50 for three cans. Note: It is ONLY sold in three can packs. How much would it cost for Mrs. Turman to buy and 80- day supply for her two dogs?

10 Problem Number seven A carpet company has yards of carpet. Today, the company made 4 rugs, each made of yards of carpet. How much carpet does the company have left over?

11 Problem number eight Lucy mixed two cans of paint each containing gallons. She also mixed four cans having gallons each. What is the total amount of paint?

12 Problem number nine A cheese company must package an order of 12 pounds of cheese. The first block is pounds. The second block of cheese is pounds. A third block is half the weight of the second block. How much cheese is needed to fulfill the 12-pound order?
