Month Year doc.: IEEE yy/xxxxr0 Oct 2006 Introduction to Distributed Sensing Distributed Sensing Distributed Sensing scheme yields more reliable incumbent detection through cooperation of BS and all CPEs. Under distributed sensing operation, all CPE and BS should participate cooperative sensing not only their used channel (Active 1 set) but also other user’s used channel (Active 2 set) Basic assumption for this distributive sensing scheme is that BS and CPE have separate sensing receiver. All the current communication channels (i.e., Active Channel Set 1 and 2) have differently aligned QP in time.  Distributed QP ETRI

5 When BS and CPE sense Active 2 set?
Month Year doc.: IEEE yy/xxxxr0 Oct 2006 When BS and CPE sense Active 2 set? In order to sense Active 2 set properly During a channel’s QP, the host of the channel senses its Active 1 Set. Also, others sense the same channel as a sensing of Active 2 Set and report their sensing results to BS. Thus, BS has N sensing results for the active channels, where N is the number of active CPEs in BS. To sense the Active 2 Set, it is needed that all CPEs and BS should know the other channel’s QP positions (QP synchronization discussed slide 12). ETRI

9 Additional features of Distributed QP
Month Year doc.: IEEE yy/xxxxr0 Oct 2006 Additional features of Distributed QP Self-interference free sensing In the vicinity of Cell or Sector, it is required QP information for occupied by other WRAN channels (i.e., Active 2 set) to sense without self interference. This yield more accurate sensing for other active 2 sets. QP synchronization needs channel list for all BS and CPE Current Draft v.0.1 can support the channel list. Therefore, WRAN enable QP synchronization. Based on the QP synchronization, WRAN more efficiently sense without self interference by using the proposed distributed QP scheme. ETRI
