7 Guest Speaker Gary Volpe Harleysville Rotary Membership co-Chair

8 My Initial Experience My friend LaVerne asked me to go to a Rotary meeting I had the usual reasons not to go The Harleysville Rotary had about 30 members The club showed us power point presentation on ‘Shelter Box’ and then we saw how Rotary drilled water well in Nigeria “The water shot up like a geyser” —‘Fantastic’ I joined and was put on Membership Committee in 5 minutes In the next 15 minutes I was on the board WOW that was fast Then I was asked to be VP 15 minutes into my first board meeting--- too fast! Harleysville Rotary club was involved with several projects and activities when I joined I became involved with every activity I could I wanted to contribute THAT’S WHY WE JOIN---Right?
