1 WELCOME

2 From September 2018 We are no longer using assessment levels
Outcome Statements based on skills not content! More than one opportunity to meet each skill Now 3 attainment criteria This is a pilot for 2/3 years

3 AT 1: Learning About This is concerned with knowledge and understanding. It based round skills of enquiry, investigation, factual recall or the ability to find information. You need to help pupils know and use religious vocabulary and you need to help them think clearly

4 AT2: Engage and Respond This is where the knowledge pupils have acquired begins to impact on their own lives Pupils are asking questions what does this information mean to the way I and others see the world. How might change my behaviour or that of others. You are developing skills of empathy, reflecting critically, constructing arguments, communication

5 AT3 Analysis and Evaluation
This is where pupils have the opportunity to state their own opinion (WITH REASONS) To weigh up (analysis) differing view points To evaluate the strength of different positions They should try to view arguments from a reasoned viewpoint paying attention to evidence We need to help pupils reflect on the reliability of the source of their information

6 The aims of RE include the need to:
To present engagingly content which is the basis of knowledge and understanding of Catholic Faith. teach pupils to think to develop their critical facilities to relate faith to life to respect the traditions and beliefs of other faiths.

7 The outcome of RE : Religiously literate and engaged young people who have the knowledge understanding and skills, (appropriate to their age and capacity) to reflect spiritually, think ethically and theologically, and who are aware of the demands of religious commitment in everyday life.
