BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE DEGREE FOR TRANSFER (AS-T) Program Learning Outcomes: Students completing this program will be able to: Prepare and analyze financial statements. Prepare and manage an operating budget. Evaluate the impact of current economic conditions on a business. Assess the legal implications of business decisions. BUS 100 #1: Understand the general business environment. ACT 121 #4: Prepare financial statements ECON 100 #2: Analyze macroeconomic issues such as unemployment, inflation and economic growth MATH 200 #2: Interpret data displayed in tables and graphically.

Spring 2018: Faculty created a survey for students in ENGL 110/165 (capstone composition course) addressing PLO #1 (“Analyze and respond critically to literary and expository texts.”) Survey administered May 2018. Fall 2018: Results submitted for discussion / action in department meeting (Aug/Sept 2018). criteria for good activity: 👍 offers a fresh perspective on student learning 👍 generates meaningful discussion 👍 connects back to teaching in a practical way 👍 is easy for faculty to participate in 👍 helps students reflect on their learning

6 REFLECTION (10 minutes) Consider the degree or certificates offered in your discipline. Looking over the methods available, sketch out some activities to gauge student learning in your degree or certificate.

7 teamwork share out in pairs / threes: compare your ideas for program assessments ponder: pros and cons of this method what you might learn from it whether this method might work in other disciplines a few details / examples

8 discussion: share out what ideas have we come up with? are there any methods that we didn’t use? what concerns remain?
