1 The Pride of the Rays Atlantic Coast Band Mission
By providing students with a band experience that is rigorous, challenging and rewarding we will develop a program that can serve as a point of pride for students, families and our community. We will develop within students a greater awareness of the talents that lie within them, promote the character and skills needed for success in today’s world and foster a love of music and a deeper understanding of humanities and culture.

Everyone involved strives to get better every day Participates in all Florida Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment events Helps to create school pride and spirit by participating in school events Serves as an ambassador to the community through public performances and events Develops character, leadership and responsibility skills Has “The Culture” of success and accountability

Everyone is held accountable to everyone else so preparation is the norm Relationships Students helping and encouraging each other “WE not ME” To be “early” is to be “on-time” Rule #1- Always look good. Constant awareness of “how we do things here”

Equipment helpers Chaperones Communication - Website- RECRUITING! We need YOU to talk to your friends and neighbors about joining our band and joining band in 6th grade

6 What We Need- Students Dedicated, responsible students
Attendance is ALWAYS mandatory Keep a calendar Manage your commitments, plan and work ahead Manage any issues IN WRITING. IN ADVANCE. Practice and preparation at home Need help- ASK. Need time to work on something- MAKE IT.

Band Summer Nights 5:30-8:00PM Thursday, June 16 Tuesday, June 21 Thursday, June 30 Monday, July 11 Tuesday, July 12- DCI Bethune-Cookman College Mostly musical rehearsals Please me about any travel plans so I can plan accordingly.

Rookie Camp New members and officers only. Get everyone up to speed Thursday, July 28-Friday, July 29 8:00am-5:00pm Must bring everything listed under “Full Band Camp” Full Band Camp- Week 1 EVERYONE! Show time! Monday, August 1- Friday, August 5 Full Camp- Week 2 Monday, August 8- Friday, August 12 3:30pm-7:00pm
