A person's world view is the way they see and understand the world, especially regarding issues such as politics, philosophy, and religion.

2 Tunbridge Wheels and Black Island

3 Reading of chapter 3 Add to the London page with ideas from ch3 + pg nos – what do we learn about Tom’s world view? What are some of the ways that people express their world views? Why? Are they effective methods? What can impact someone’s world view?

4 Model quotation analysis
Ask pupils for one on the quotations they have found Write up + question pupils: What does this tell us – add notes What else implied? What do we learn about Tom? What words are important in particular – explain why

5 Chapter 4 Discuss what we have learnt about Tom’s ideas and attitudes – add this to the character profile we did in L1 – highlight it
