Wind Energy By: Bella Strizzi, Emma Templar, Conner Montoya, and Xavier Jones

2 What is Wind Energy? (Bella)
Definition- “Wind power, form of energy conversion in which turbines convert the kinetic energy of wind into mechanical or electrical energy that can be used for power” It is a renewable and clean energy source It doesn’t emit toxic byproducts or harmful gases into the air Amount of houses a wind turbine can power depends on its MW (milliwatt) capacity For example, a 1.5MW turbine could power around houses, and a 3MW turbine can power around 1,500 The amount of houses a wind turbine can power also depends on the wind speed

3 Our Plan

4 Wind Energy Pros and Cons
The wind turbines that we would use takes up less space than any thing else would With one wind turbine we could power over 500 homes We don’t need as many turbines as you would think. Cons The turbines that are use are very large, so we would need a huge piece of land for the turbines being used Carnation or Duvall does not really have that big of space The space needed would be high elevation to where the wind turbines would work

5 Compared to Solar Energy, Nuclear, and Fossil Fuels
It does not pollute the air Takes up less sapce
