Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Even a moments disruption can have devastating effects on power sensitive customers such as internet service providers, data centres, wireless telecommunications networks, on line traders, computer chip manufacturers and medical research centres. For these customers, power disruptions can result in data corruption, burned circuit boards, component damage, file corruption and lost customers. - Electrical Power Interruption Cost Estimates for Individual Industries, Sectors and US Economy February 2002, US Dept of Energy, Office of Power Technologies The system and its data can become corrupt as a result of power failure…a UPS can protect the system if power is lost. A UPS usually provides…temporary power which may be enough to permit a graceful shutdown - Special Publication 800-34 Contingency Planning Guide for Information Technology Systems, National Institute of Standards and Technology, June 2002

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Models available include 500, 700, 1000, 1500, 2200 & 3000VA tower models 700, 1000, 1500, 2200 & 3000VA 19inch rackmount models Longer runtime (L) version for 700VA and 1000VA 2200 and 3000VA with DC connector for additional batteries Matching battery cabinets Range

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 ControlInverter Boost Buck Normal Battery Safety Relay AVR Relay IN OUT Line Interactive Topology

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 A Line Interactive UPS provides: Battery back up and voltage stabilisation As well as providing back up power from the battery when the mains fails, the UPS filters the mains during normal operation, regulating the incoming voltage Cost effective UPS protection Lower price compared to on line UPS Topology

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 A Line Interactive UPS provides: Small break in power During the switch from mains to battery, there is a small loss of power to the load (typically 2-4ms, not affecting most computer type loads) Medium degree of protection When compared to on line (double conversion) UPS Topology

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Excellent High Voltage Protection The Match UPS will protect itself and the supported load up to 350VAC. Most UPS will damage themselves or the load if the input voltage exceeds 300V Low Green Power Consumption Compared to other line interactive UPS, the power consumption is extremely low during normal operation Unique Selling Points

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Unique Selling Points Optimised Sinewave Output The output waveform is sinusoidal with a linear load, and with a crest load is slightly flattened. This avoids high current peaks on the electronics and the battery, and still provides high efficiency. This is the optimal solution between sinewave and stepwave UPS outputs. Stepwave UPS can cause some electronic equipment to malfunction.

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Additional USPs, Match 2200 & 3000 Extremely wide input voltage window At 165-275V (500-1500VA) and 140-305V (2200 & 3000VA), the output voltage is limited to 190-254V. This minimises the need for battery use, extending battery life Battery charging even at 140VAC Even in poor mains conditions there is a fast recovery of battery power, increasing up time and battery life High battery recharge current When additional battery packs are connected, the charger current automatically increases to 10A, ensuring much faster recharge time

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Additional USPs, Match 2200 & 3000 Deep battery calibration test The actual battery capacity can be tested and calibrated. This ensures the predicted runtime stays accurate throughout the life of the UPS Load dependent end of discharge If the discharge time is shorter, batteries may be discharged deeper. This features ensures maximum runtime is is given at any load level, without the risk of damaging the battery during longer power failures

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Automatic voltage regulation The buck and boost function minimises battery operation, increasing the battery life. With an inout voltage window of 165-275V, the output voltage is limited to 190-254V Crest factor input acceptance 6:1 The Match is especially suited for computer loads, and no oversizing is necessary Key Features

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Battery start (cold start) Allows the UPS to be switched on without mains power, for mobile applications or to perform a quick action during a mains failure Extended communication RS232, SNMP and contact interface communication (plug in options for Match 700L and above) Key Features

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Key Features – Superior Battery Management Automatic monthly battery testing Charger off at end of discharge period Automatic boost charge 2 hours battery recharge time The UPS keeps running in normal operation over the test, rather than switching to battery. If the battery is damaged or empty, the load is still supported Lowest battery temperature during mains operation Prevents battery depletion beyond recharge capability Safe battery test Alerts the user that the batteries need to be replaced For areas with poor mains, ensures a faster recharge time than with float charge only On battery at less than 5% load, the UPS performs an automatic shutdown to protect the battery. This function can be disabled Means that loads even in very poor mains areas can be supported more than once during a shift The electronic design of the UPS means the battery temperature is very low, increasing battery life No load shutdown

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Accessories SNMP Card Can be used with Match 700L upwards Presents UPS information across a network via: SNMP Agent (one or more NMS can monitor, manage and control the UPS) Web Server (UPS data in HTML format, so standard internet browser can be used to monitor UPS) Easy installation through RS232 slot SNMP box also available Network Protection Software CD packed with UPS free of charge, with intelligent communication cable. Simple installation Virtually invisible operation under normal conditions Provides a graceful shutdown of load after a lengthy mains failure Supports all major operating systems DataShield supplied for JAVA supported operating systems

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 Accessories Relay Interface Card Can be used with Match 700L upwards Easily installed into CardConnect slot at rear of UPS Provides 4 potential free contacts for: Mains failure General alarm Battery low Bypass active and a 9 pole Sub-D connector Manual Service Bypass Contains a manual bypass switch Allows for maintenance or testing of UPS with no interference to the protected load Pluggable as standard, but can be hardwired using the internal terminal strip

Match UPS Product Management July 29th, 2004 PCs Servers Workstations Hubs, switches and routers Cash register systems (EPOS) Fax, modem, ISDN adaptors Applications
