1 S1 Reading Book Bingo

2 How much reading is involved?
You may be given a short amount of time to read in class, by your class teacher, or maybe during a lesson dedicated to reading skills. Your teacher expects that you also try to read for 20 minutes each day. This might be during support (if you have permission), at break or lunch in the library, on the bus, or at home.

3 When can I shout BINGO? There are three bingo cards: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each card has an exact number of books you must read, to receive your certificate. Bronze = 4 Silver = 6 Gold = 8 Some of the squares have specific instructions, and others are blank, for you to pick your own. When you finish your book, your teacher, will sign/stamp/sticker to say you have completed the task.

4 Bronze I can read a book with more than 10 pages
I can read a whole book with little or no help from my teacher

5 Silver I have read a book which is similar to one of my favourite films/games. I have read a book that takes place in a different country.

6 Gold I have read a book which is over 200 pages.
I have read a book which is considered a “classic”.
